What a Day!

Today I’m letting the idea of being a travel blogger sink in. Still doesn’t seem real. The idea of writing used to terrify me. Sure, I learned how to write a decent paper in high school, but I never enjoyed writing. Until yesterday.

Below you will find a screenshot of notifications from my first post. Pam Kent is my amazing mother and #1 fan. Kelley Neu is a friend of the family, former boss, and strong woman that I look up to. And Aditya is a new friend of mine who calls me Coach. This picture to me represents my very start in this world, (thanks Mom!), support from a mentor (Miss you Kelley!), and the excitement of what lies ahead (Aditya has offered to be my blog critic).

My goals for this blog moving forward are going to be centered around 4 things.

1. Sharing how I got my start as a World Traveler. Basically, how I caught the travel bug and never want to stop exploring.

2. Act as a travel mentor for anyone who has dreamt about experiencing a new place. For the record, I enjoy traveling to new countries and states just as much as trying something new in my hometown. Well, almost as much…

3. Allow others to see me in a very real and authentic way. If I’m going to ask you to take time out of your day to read my blog, I want it to feel like you are having a conversation with a friend.

I will continue to write with these goals in mind, while remembering that it’s equally important to change and evolve.

And how could I forget?!

4. Photos! All photos will be my own unless mentioned over wise.

On the Island of Mykonos in Greece, May 2015. This part of the island is called Little Venice and is even more beautiful in person.

The ever popular tube station saying in London, UK. Can’t recall the station this was taken at, but the tube station my brother Steven and I used during our trip to the London 2012 Olympcs, was Sloane Square.

On vacation with my family to the Grand Tetons during  Summer 2014. Fun fact! Teton in French means breast, so Grand Tetons loosely translates to large breasts. My Dad shared that with us, and my  brother Adam, 11 years old at the time, thought is was the funniest thing he’d ever heard. Oh brother…

Cruising it up with the Quad Squad in January 2014. From the front going back is me, Kelsey, Carolyn, and Sarah; my amazing friends from college. Travel is not just the places you go, or the things or photos you bring home, it’s also about who you share it with. Yes, this picture is blurry, but that’s exactly why I love it! I could never delete this moment in my life because it doesn’t look perfect.

I’d love to hear what your travel dreams are! Please share in the comments below.

Thanks for reading!

I don’t like to delete blurry pictures either. Sometimes they are the best memories.
